If you are a lover of great Spanish wines, you may be dreaming of tasting a vega sicilia unico 2009. The price of the bottle can quickly turn heads and slow down even the most reckless buyers. Let’s go together to discover this exceptional wine, the vega sicilia unico 2009

The history of the estate

It all began at the end of the 19th century, more precisely in 1864, when the Marquis of Valbuena went bankrupt and saw his lands bought by Don Toribio Lecanda, who then bequeathed them to his son Don Eloy Lecanda. The Marquis of Valbuena started the estate by planting Bordeaux grape varieties (Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon) as well as Tempranillo, the typical variety of the Castilian region. In 1982, Hans Neumann sold Vega Sicilia to the Alvarez family, who were able to give it all its letters of nobility. Since that same year, the Ribera del Duero area has obtained its designation of origin. Of the 1000 hectares of the Vega Sicilia estate, only 200 are dedicated to the cultivation of vines.

Where to buy a Vega Sicilia Unico 2009?

The Vega Sicilia estate produces some very exceptional wines such as the Valbuena or the Vega Sicilia Unico 2009 produced on the Vega Sicilia estate. However, the Alvarez family is expanding its expertise beyond the estate as they also own vineyards in the neighboring region of Toro DO, Alion and Oremus which is located in Hungary. All the attention paid to the vines, the terroirs, makes these Spanish wines exceptional. Unico is made from 40 parcels and it is after 10 years of maturation that the wines can be marketed. It can be difficult to get a Vega Sicilia Unico 2009 because of its rarity. But you can get the Holy Grail from sites like WVine, a specialist in exceptional French and foreign wines. I invite you to visit their online store to see the wines they have. You can find wine from Domaine Ramonet for instance. Be careful, they have very limited stocks, so don’t delay. If by misfortune, you don’t find what you are looking for, you can contact them and they will try to answer as soon as possible.

Personally, I am a big fan of Spanish wines. I hope to have the chance one day to taste the exceptional wines of the Vega Sicilia estate.
